DOT Jordan is looking for a Youth Center Programs Coordinator with 2-3 years working experience.The youth center coordinator will be responsible for the day to day operations of the youth center in Syrian Refugee Camps: Azraq and Zaatari; with a special focus on Mental Health and Psychosocial support, Recreational Activities and Career counseling.
Responsibilities:
– Support in implementing MHPSS, Recreational and Career Counseling activities in the Youth Adolescent Center
– Oversee Youth Center volunteers to ensure that recreational activities and career counseling sessions are running smoothly
– Support Youth Center volunteers engage in MHPSS toolkits ensuring that volunteers can support and refer youth to required mental health services
– Develop alongside Youth Center Managers and support staff a work plan for Recreational Activities, MHPSS Activities and Career counseling activities
– Oversee Recreational Areas and Career counseling spaces along with volunteers support staff and submit any technical issues for follow-up to Logistics officers
– Support youth center volunteers in delivering the MHPSS and Career Counseling workshops
– Follow-up and distribution of needed assessments to beneficiaries to capture youth center activities
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, Youth Development, or a related field
– Experience working with vulnerable youth in development or humanitarian settings; experience with refugee communities is highly desirable
– Background in Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programming and tools
– Demonstrated ability to coordinate and implement youth-centered activities, including recreational and career counseling programs
– Organizational skills, including planning and overseeing activity spaces and logistics
– Proficiency in administering assessments and reporting on program outcomes
– Knowledge of referral systems for mental health and other youth support services is a plus
– Willing and able to conduct daily site visits outside of Amman: Mafraq and Azraq
– Fluency in Arabic is required
– English proficiency in report writing is required
