We are looking to hire a Fleet Section Head

Fleet Operations Management

· Plan and coordinate the scheduling, dispatching, and routing of vehicles to meet delivery deadlines.

· Monitor the real-time performance of the fleet using GPS and tracking systems.

· Analyze delivery routes and optimize for fuel efficiency, time, and cost savings.

Maintenance and Repairs

· Schedule routine maintenance and ensure all vehicles are in top operational condition.

· Manage repair processes to minimize downtime and ensure safety standards are met.

· Maintain comprehensive records of vehicle maintenance history.

Cost Control and Budgeting

· Develop and manage the fleet budget, including expenses for fuel, repairs, insurance, and licensing.

· Negotiate contracts with fuel providers, service vendors, and insurance companies.

· Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising efficiency or quality.

Compliance and Safety

· Ensure adherence to transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

· Conduct regular inspections to maintain compliance with legal and environmental standards.

· Train drivers on safety protocols and monitor their adherence to driving regulations.

Team Management

· Supervise drivers and other fleet-related staff.

· Monitor driver performance through feedback and regular performance evaluations.

· Address driver concerns and foster a positive working environment.

Data Management and Reporting

· Utilize fleet management software to track vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules.

· Generate reports on fleet performance, costs, and efficiency metrics for senior management.

· Use data insights to recommend improvements and implement changes to optimize fleet operations.

Technical Skills

· Proficiency in fleet management software and GPS tracking systems.

· Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, and regulatory requirements.

Analytical Skills

· Strong problem-solving abilities to address logistical and operational challenges.

· Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve fleet performance.

Leadership Skills

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to lead a team effectively.

· Conflict resolution skills to handle issues with drivers or operational challenges.

Organizational Skills

· Excellent planning and time management skills to coordinate multiple schedules and operations.

· Attention to detail in record-keeping and compliance monitoring.

Qualifications

· Diploma degree in relevant field preferable logistics, bachelor’s degree is a plus.

· Minimum of 7 years’ experience in fleet management / logistics.

· Knowledge of applicable laws, safety regulations, and industry standards.
