The Jordan Ireland Business Association in cooperation with the Embassy of lreland in Jordan is seeking to employ a part-time Intern on a 12-month temporary contract to support the Association’s Steering Committee in all its objectives, activities and planning. This is an exciting role for a motivated, enthusiastic and determined business graduate. This role will provide the successful candidate with an excellent opportunity to engage with various multi-level stakeholders, both in Jordan and Ireland, to promote trade and business engagement between Ireland and Jordan. The successful candidate will be based at the Embassy of Ireland in Jordan and will work directly to the Jordan Ireland Business Association’s Steering Committee.
Key Job duties
* Setting up and organising JIBA meetings and taking meeting minutes with highlighting key decisions and actions.
• Management of JIBA social media platforms with regular updates on JIBA activity and news.
* Working with JIBA Steering Committee on events and projects as required.
* Active and leading role in managing membership recruitment.
• Maintaining JIBA contact management list, writing and circulating JIBA newsletters with members.
* Filing relevant JIBA documents and keeping records of any developments.
* Facilitating and attending meetings for JIBA Steering Committee with key partners.
• A willingness to working flexibly in accordance with the needs of an evolving organization.
Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic
Relevant Graduate qualification in Business management, Finance, Economics, or another relevant field.
Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Good communicational and organisational skills and the ability of note taking and reporting.
Terms of Employment
This is a part time position on 12-month contract. A probationary period of 1 month will apply. In the event of non-performance or incompatibility in the workplace, the employer reserves the right to terminate the contract, giving a period of at least 4 weeks’ notice to the employee. Signature of this contract does not confer rights for longer term employment.
Salary and benefits: Gross monthly salary is JOD 400. Salary will be paid electronically therefore; successful candidate must have a bank account.
Working hours: working hours are 20 hours a week, (Exact hours and working days will be set upon mutual agreement). When official events, visits, meetings are being held outside of these hours, flexibility on behalf of the employee will be required. II.
Iliness provision: if you are unable to attend for duty due to illness, you should immediately notify your line manager at the Embassy of Ireland. All sick leave requires certification by a medical practitioner. In case of illness, salary will continue to be paid for up to, but not beyond, 4 weeks.
Annual Leave: your annual leave entitlement is 14 days per year. Extra to this you are entitled to Jordanian public holidays. If you are required to work a public holiday, you will receive compensatory leave within a reasonable timeframe.
Confidentiality: all information which comes to your attention or is disclosed to you in the course of your work at the Embassy of Ireland is to be regarded as confidential. The disclosure of such information to a third party will be cause for immediate dismissal.
