About AlHudood

AlHudood is a regional independent media organisation working primarily in satire and other creative tools to discuss the most important political and social issues that are affecting people in the Arab region today.

AlHudood does that by covering the daily news, by discussing the prevalent social, economic, and environmental issues, and by analyzing and critiquing politically funded media organizations. It does that through writing original content, but also by creating interactive content on its site and social media, in ways no other organization does.

We have some amazingly talented (and just wonderful) people in the team, but we are growing and we need your help, as we still have more positions to fill for the next chapter of the organisation’s growth journey.

The Role

We are looking for a well organised, smart, and practical person to join the Admin and Finance team. You will be working directly with both the Operations Manager and the Ops Officer, supporting them in the daily functions of the whole organisation, and in the periodical operations including bookkeeping, evaluations, funding cycles, amongst many others. You will be the magic Swiss knife of the team (without the insane over expectations that are sometimes required by companies in such roles).

Aside from the great team you will be working with, no role is without excitement and challenges at AlHudood, requiring the use of creativity and problem solving skills on a daily basis. If you want a role which is challenging (but where you are also supported), and has a lot of room for growth, this is for you.

Your Responsibilities:

Office management

  • Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office, and manage and maintain office supplies and services.
  • Organize and schedule meetings and appointments, and record Minutes of Meeting.
  • Maintain a donor and awards calendar, and organise and schedule donor reports.
  • Assess and propose ways in which the office environment can be improved, as well as organise internal events, in line with AlHudood’s core values.
  • Follow up with external parties, incl. social security, banks, medical insurance companies, auditors, pending payments, etc.
  • Produce invoices and receipts.

Human resources

  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date maintenance of employee file and HR databases.
  • Assist in the recruitment process from job description to offer.
  • Assist with the end of year evaluation process.

What we are looking for

  • 1-3 years of professional experience in a similar position.
  • Previous and recent financial and administrative experience.
  • Efficient organisation and great communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with ability to plan and prioritise.

Desirable

  • Previous experience with NGOs and/or in the creative industry.
