Under the direct supervision of the Head of Field Offices and working closely with programme teams in the country office and field offices, ensure effective and timely implementation of activities and delivery of assistance under the General Food Assistance (GFA), School Feeding and Resilience programmes. The post will also support accountability and reporting as per the relevant templates. In addition, the incumbent will invest in enhancing the capacity of staff and cooperating partners. The successful candidate will also deputise for the Head of Field Offices in his/her absence, and will support in managing Amman and Mafraq field offices, s/he will be required to travel regularly between Amman and Mafraq Field Offices.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

1.    Contribute towards the development of projects, plans and processes, ensuring alignment with wider programme policies and guidance.
2.    Provide project management support for projects of considerable size/complexity, ensuring a coordinated approach with wider WFP, UN and NGO activities while ensuring full compliance with WFP standards and procedures for implementation and accountability.
3.    Follow data gathering and monitoring systems ensuring that rigorous quality standards are maintained.
4.    Research and analyse a range of policy and operational issues to inform the development of policies, programmes and activities.
5.    Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
6.    Liaise with internal and external counterparts to ensure effective collaboration, monitor ongoing projects and highlight potential risks to project delivery.
7.    Support the identification, development and management of potential partnerships to collaborative working leading to improved food assistance packages.
8.    Support the capacity building of WFP staff, partners and national government to prepare for and respond to food assistance and social protection needs, e.g. through coaching/mentoring, and/or providing inputs into training materials.
9.    Guide and supervise staff, acting as a point of referral and supporting them with analysis and queries.
10.    Upon request from management, represent WFP during delegations and donor missions.
11.    Contribute to a work environment that is supportive of the ethical and gender equality agenda of WFP Jordan.
12.    Regularly visit field operations to ensure relevance of programme design & implementation, and propose enhancements where/when needed.
13.    Contribute to the preparation of accurate and timely reporting on programmes and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
14.    Act as Officer-in-Charge – Head of Field Office, during absence of direct supervisor.STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.

Experience: Minimum 3 years of post-graduate professional experience in managing field operations, supplemented with experience in programme implementation or monitoring and preparing reports. Experience in working with technical teams (nutrition, VAM, etc.) is desirable but not a mandatory requirement for the role. Candidate holding first university degree are required to have 5 years of post-graduate professional experience in relevant fields

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Arabic and English.DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
