Compensation & Benefits Manager

Description

Job Purpose:

Responsible for designing, overseeing and implementing a firm’s compensation and benefits programs and monitor salary structures, and balance staffing needs with cost controls.

This job entails exposure to:

Oversee the compensation and benefits division of a company and analyzes compensation data within an organization and evaluates job positions to determine classification and salary.

  • Design, implement, and manage salary classification and compensation programs
  • Conduct analysis of compensation and benefits within company
  • Prepare occupational classifications and salary scale
  • Improve recruitment and retention
  • Oversee competitive analysis, merit increases and salary structure
  • Analyze surveys to ensure appropriate compensation across all departments
  • Forecast budget for salary increases
  • Oversee pension and savings plans
  • Advise on salary increase requests
  • Negotiate collective agreements on behalf of employers or workers
  • Research job and worker requirements, structural and functional relationships among jobs and occupations, and occupational trends
  • Advise employees on state and federal employment regulations, collective agreements, benefits and compensation policies, personnel procedures and classification programs

Monitor and enhance inclusion behaviors in the workplace and take actions accordingly

  • Ensure equal pay and benefits for employees based on their experience, skills and performance
  • Ensure that benefits packages are tailored to deliver the same value for both genders

Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance, instruction and direction to team members
  • Assign roles and work load distribution, setting objectives
  • Plan and organize the work of team members
  • Provide needed development for team members (coordinate with his direct management and HR)
  • Provide coaching and performance feedback to team members
  • Manage team’s performance (Performance appraisal is part of this cycle)
  • Act as a point of reference for team in issues related to company strategy and direction (top down approach)
  • Assure that all his/her team member are following Umniah policies and procedures and highlight any violation for the code of conduct
  • Document the division policies and procedures in coordination with the Quality Assurance
  • Manage the administration requirements of his/her team (Attendance, Job Description…)
  • Set the division annual plan in alignment with the department and company direction/strategy
  • Define the division budget
  • Manage the division performance and assign projects
  • Reporting
  • Retain talents and recommend actions with low performers
  • Guarantee business continuity in his/her division

Requirements

Education: Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or any related field. MBA is preferred.

Work Experience: a minimum of 8 years in a related role.

Knowledge of:

  • Compensation and Benefits best practices
  • HR General Skills: Jordan Labor Law and Regulations,Jordan Income Tax Knowledge
  • HR Strategy and Design: Organizational Strategy, Organizational Design, Designing and executing surveys, Measurement, Benchmarking and Reporting, Change Management
  • HR Information Systems: Payroll Systems, Personnel Data/Record Handlıng, ERP Systems, Knowledge Management Systems, Reporting
  • Resource Compensation: Base and Variable Pay Models, Benefit Schemes, Bonus Schemes, Reward and Recognition Schemes
  • Excellent command of English language speaking and writing.
  • Excellent command of MS office applications.
